INVESTMENT ANALYST

This is a hybrid (partly remote) role, that involves the successful candidate shadowing a director and other senior team members located in other countries. The successful candidate will further deepen their understanding of corporate and investment banking across Africa – participating as a full member of the investment team.

The Company is sector agnostic, with particular focus on Renewable Power, Transport and Logistics, Real Estate, Agriculture and Healthcare sectors. The role will involve participating in weekly activities as well as project specific tasks.

This is a one off opportunity to under study and be part of a well-respected investment team and a Company with strong emerging markets investment and transaction advisory experience.

The right candidate will be seeking an opportunity to see high volumes of deal flow and get up and close to the world of investment banking.

The ideal candidate will need to be excited about building financial models, doing market research and prepared to learn about other topical issues like Digital Business, ESG investment and the Africa Continental Free Trade Area. You will gain international deal structuring experience as 70% of transactions are based outside South Africa.

Some tasks:

* Carry out due diligence checks and market-studies

* Build Financial models

* Analysing business plans and auditing financial models

* Drafting reports and taking minutes for management review

* Assisting with financial analysis and financial modelling

  • 5 years investment experience.
  • Part or full qualifications with professional bodies like CFA (etc) is preferable.
  • Potential extension of the first 12 month contract
  • Must be an excellent communicator with report writing skills to match
